Types of Program Support

Folks,

Please take a few moments and share your ideas for program support for this proto-Special Interest Group.  Should we be represented at the "ASIST Rush" event for the upcoming Annual Meeting?  Would folks like to create a Continuing Education (CE) module on one or more of these new technologies?  Should this CE be web based/virtual, or could we create a program that can be used by multiple Chapters?  Should we have a FAQ or list of key BWP web sites/blogs (perhaps annotated) on the ASIST web site?  What type of audio content should be tried on our blog?

The ideas are, naturally, limited only be our collective imagination.  Let's see what we can come up with.

What's In a Name?!

Folks,

The working name of this proto-special interest group is "Blogs, Wikis, Podcasting" but that is just a working title.  There was some discussion on the ASIST-L list about just what this new group should be--a broader "communications" focus, a "social impact" focus, or something else.

This is where you come in.  Start discussing--let each of us know what you think the mission, vision and name of this new proto-SIG should be.  What will we encompass, what will we accomplish?

Let us know what you think...

Introduction

Folks,

This blog is designed to help support the new proto-special interest group on blogs, wikis and podcasting.  The evolution and ultimate purpose of this blog will be defined by you, the ASIST members who take part in the discussions, formulations, and decisions.

With the listserv (electronic discussion group) and this blog, we are two thirds of the way to setting up all the communications infrastructure to support this nascent group.  Ideas, suggestions, support, etc. are always welcomed.

I look forward to being a part of this community.
